Our five core practices are for people of all ages and abilities.

Children

We are returning to a two worship service schedule for the 2021-2022 school year. Everything is subject to change, but we have a plan that we hope will be workable.

9:00 am Traditional Worship
Children will sit in the pews with their families. The children’s sermon will be offered from the front, with children remaining in their seats. There will be no food or fellowship offered.

11:00 am Family Worship
We will have family tables, appropriately distanced. Families may bring their own food and activities for their children, and infants and toddlers may be placed on their blankets on the ground. There will be no food shared and people should be sensitive of spacing appropriately. Special activities for the children to keep them engaged are being planned – and the worship service is being developed for greater interaction throughout.

Special Kids’ Play events may be scheduled monthly with safety precautions taken.

You can stay up to date on our Children's events on our private Facebook group

If you would like to help plan the children’s activities for the Family Worship service, or to help with Kids’ Play events, please let Pastor Katherine know.

Youth

We are moving into the 2021-2022 school year with plans for weekly youth meetings.

Hub Cluster Activities
We will be collaborating with the HUB Cluster (our area United Methodist Churches) for two events monthly. This will include some “Faith Adventures” which will involve travel in order to experience faith in some new ways.

Church Activities
Other weeks of the month, we will have gatherings at Rochelle UMC. These meetings will include mission and service activities, FUN Bible studies, lively conversations, fellowship times, and fun activities. This schedule of events will be planned by a Youth Council: a team approach planned by youth, parents, and other interested adults, including Pastor Katherine.

Youth Events will be open to friends. Generally, they will be held at 4:00 pm. HUB Cluster events will also begin at 4:00, so we will meet at church at 3:30 pm in order to share rides to get there. Drivers will be appreciated!

Youth Council will meet for the first time on Sunday, September 12 at 4:00 pm in Hick’s Hall. Everyone is welcome!

Safety note: We will observe safety precautions, and unless we are outside, masks will be worn by youth and adults.
